Most Deceitful President

Almost every fan of Mohammad Khatami, ex-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that he was the most deceiving President ever in IRI. Lots of things happened during his presidency but most controversial issue was On 9 July which police and right-wing vigilantes stormed a Tehran University dormitory which students were occupying. The move sparked off days of street riots across the country, in which students were beaten and detained by police and hardliners. At least five were reportedly killed. continue story in "Iran student protests: Five years on"

But ex-President Khatami didn’t stop hardliners or even police. Even he didn’t condemn police and hardliners attack! He didn’t say anything! But still people gave him more chance because some thought, he probably didn’t get any chance under totalitarian regime to do anything but in his second period of presidency he acted more weird and ignorant to people’s problem. So he lost his loyal fans, people, for ever!

Look at some photos of student movements and consequences on July 9, 1999:
