Stands with the people of Darfur. Will you?

Avaaz.org is a community of global citizens who take action on the major issues facing the world today. They say Avaaz.org members are taking action for a more just and peaceful world and a vision of globalization with a human face.

I do like some of their project but certainly I don’t share same opinion about Iraq project because They want to see the US permanently and completely withdraw its military presence from Iraq under an agreed timetable supported by the Iraqi people which I totally disagree with it all the way. The US did a good job so far and I hope they stay there till the time that Iraqis be able to establish a stable government.

Anyway I support their action on Darfur and I wish you support it too.

For four years, Sudan's military dictator, General Omar Bashir, has orchestrated the deaths of over 200,000 of his own citizens in the region of Darfur. After a massive global outcry, the killing has decreased and the UN is deploying peacekeepers -- but what peace will they have to keep?

Next Friday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will convene the "Darfur Contact Group" of 17 leaders to help set the agenda for Darfur's peace talks. This is our best hope yet for voices to triumph over violence in Darfur. Sign on below to stand with the people of Darfur and demand that our leaders deploy high-level diplomatic teams to the region to secure a fair and lasting peace for the people of Darfur:

Thanks!
