The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the US terrorist blacklist

Four days ago, finally the US Senate on Wednesday voted 76-22 for the non-binding amendment sponsored by Republican Jon Kyl and independent Joseph Lieberman to place the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), or Pasdaran (Sepah-e Pasdaran), on the US terrorist blacklist.

It’s very nice that finally US did something that we in Iran expected to see long long time ago. The Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps is just a mafia with unlimited resources.

Still people in Iran talk about it and most of my friends are happy to see the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is under blacklist and we wish that world boycott Iranian regime specially politically and economically except foods and medical necessities. Play video from reuters

Mehdi Khalaji, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, writes that “the Revolutionary Guards are the spine of the current political structure in Iran and a major player in the Iranian economy.” Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has used his control of the guard to expand his own influence—both politically and economically. Khamenei appointed former Revolutionary Guards commanders to top political posts, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Ali Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. The Revolutionary Guards also control the country’s strategic missile forces, mounts foreign and domestic intelligence operations, and have sole jurisdiction of patrolling the Iranian capital.

Aside from their involvement in raids against opposition and students in Iran also they involve in Hezbollah and Iraq war with American. Their crimes during past 28 years against Iranians are unbelievable from their secret prisons, tortures, abducting people.

At the end, people are happy now.
