This is Iran where poor is very poor to the point that they don't have any other way for surviving except to sell their kidney. Following is an ad that says "Kidney for urgent sale - 25 years old, cell phone ...". You can find these kinds of ads all around hospitals and Kidney Transplant center in Tehran.

I am sorry to hear that you are in that situation. It is legal in Iran to buy, sell and transplant kidney and they do it all in hospital.
ReplyDeleteYou just need to travel to Tehran to buy kidney and have it transplant in hospital.
I am currently on Dialysis waiting for transplant from dead donor, I would consider this. Europeans are not allowed to trade kidneys, but a healthy person can agree to donate to a loved one. The moral line between this and paying donor, to me, is very blurred.

I am in a dire situation financially, my home and children are at stake!!! My sister recently made a comment "You could sell your kidney" Initially I laughed, then paused, and thought I am a organ donor, if I was to die my vital organs could per my wishes be donoted so that others could live, being in the healthcare field I have seen so many who could have saved others and some who wanted too, but sometimes family and others prevented this miracle....If my sister or family member needed a kidney, I would have no hesitatation, however, at this point,it seems like money rules the world and it doesn't matter how much I work to try and settle the heartwrenching situation I have found myself in it is to no avail..So here I am wondering could I sell a kidney?? I know how selfish this sounds, but at this point, if it is possible, and legal in the US, I feel I have no other options to obtain the money to save my family and our home....So if anyone has any input or advice please feel free to comment...: Blood type; O Negative.
