Iranian Artists under influence of backward Islamic history

Iranian artists perform a scene from the Islamic story of Ashura during a musical to commemorate the anniversary of the Iran-Iraq war (1980-88) in Tehran late on October 3, 2008.

What if these artists were not under influence of Islamic ideology? What if government wouldn't finance them? Would they spend money to perform such a backwarded story?

I wrote Ashura in west before and I think I raised my concern about exporting these kind of ideologies to free societies.

  1. The above writer - Fariborz Shamshiri - is a cowardly fool. In his above writing, he comes across as a prejudiced and bigoted idiot, while pretending to be a free intellectual.

What gives you (Fariborz Shamshiri) the right to gripe about muslims celebrating their history?
European and American history, is perhaps the most barbaric and brutal history, that the rest of humanity has witnessed. Yet we see, Americans celebrate and romanticise their 'cowboy' past with pride. These cowboys nothing but a bunch of primitive and greedy murderous cowards who stole, raped and pillaged from native americans. Europeans celebrate the glory of their past. A past which is filled with endless bloody conflict, extremely cruel torture and massacre of peoples, and then colonial conquest.
I'd bet my last dollar that you wouldn't bat an eyelid if Americans put on a cowboy show, or if there was a cultural show celebrating the Romans. Your petty hate seems to be solely directed against Islam. This is both ignorant and unjustified. I am NOT a muslim, but a keen researcher of history to know the truth.

At a time, when the western world were living in primitive and superstitious times, it was the Islamic world that held the light of civilization. the Islamic world was dominant in all fields from Science and Medicine to Arts and Culture. It was because of Islam that the European renaissance took place, the event which pulled Europe out of the dark ages. It was through Muslims, that Maths and Science and Greek philosophy came to the Europe. Like any other great civilization, Islam had a golden age, and then declined. But they have a history to be proud of.

How dare you judge Islamic history as backward? Fariborz Shamshiri, had you bothered to do any reading or any such intellectual work, then you would realise how silly your above post comes across.
CONCLUSION: It is you who is backward and ignorant for not knowing history.

  2. You're prejudice to your own belief and you are asking me to stop writing the truth because you don’t like it!

Before you write anything you need to be honest with yourself that at what date are you living? Are you living in past or now? I am living at the moment and I see it as it is.

Also I don’t need to compare above history to other histories that are not my concerns at the meantime but if you need to do that, go ahead, nobody stopped you!

About Islamic civilization that you wrote just let you know there are too many versions about them and it’s off-topic in this post, also Islamic Golden age too. Some even don’t believe there was any golden age at all. Indians were good at maths and Persians in science/medicine and some of those scientists even didn’t believe in allah or god or anything Islamic at all, so what makes you consider them Muslim or part of Islamic civilization?

By the way, you write off topic and I have no time to reply because there are too many details that I can go on and on and on.

one more thing, you're not from Italy, you're from Pakistan. Don't lie because it's not gonna look good on your argument though.

another thing, I might not respect your beliefs and probably I am disrepecting them by my writings but it doesn't give you right to hate my guts, you know.

  5. Pretty lame post. The author simply criticizes Iranian culture and comes out sounding like an ethnocentric bigot.

"What if these artists were not under influence of Islamic ideology? What if government wouldn't finance them? Would they spend money to perform such a backwarded story?"

OoOoh I'm so impressed by your dazzling intellect. SO how is this supposed to facilitate honest discussion? The point of such useless remarks is generally to attract other me-too bigots. I know of some neo-nazis on another forum, perhaps I'll send them this link so that all of you can have a thriving intellectual debate on how you all agree that Islam is backward.

    peace

  6. when does exactly Ashura become Iranian culture? or any other Arabic history?!!!

After Arabs attacked Iran they have exported their backwarded history, tradition, way of life and everything else to Iran and so on.

  7. I realy want Iranians to stay Islamic and teach only the teachings of the mullahs at their Universities and stop learning the skills of the civilized world. In the end it will save us all.
